Outgoing data, with two-way satellite access, is usually transmitted more slowly than the incoming data arrives. This type of connection is considered to be asymmetrical. A dish antenna (approximately two feet high by three feet wide by three feet deep) transmits and receives signals. The speed of outgoing (50 to 150 Kbps) and incoming data (150 to over 1200 Kbps) are dependent upon Internet traffic, server capacity, and the size of downloaded files.
